Path, Philosophy, & Core Values

Our Path

The lineage of the studio is based on the Ashtanga philosophy, which literally means “eight limbs” (ashta=eight, anga=limb). These eight steps basically act as guidelines on how to live a meaningful and purposeful life. They serve as a prescription for moral and ethical conduct and self-discipline; they direct attention toward one’s health, and they help us to acknowledge the spiritual aspect.  Our classes follow the Kripalu, Hatha, Vinyasa, Power, Hot, Gentle, Restorative & Yin traditions.

Behind Hanaq Prana's Name

HANAQ = In Inca mythology, "love from world above."
PRANA = A Sanskrit word, "energy responsible of life."
Both have the same concept:
“THE CREATOR'S LOVE CREATE LIFE"
Benefits of Yoga & Meditation

Yoga has been researched and documented to reduce stress and anxiety, decrease blood pressure and heart rate, alleviate pain, improve memory and increase the flexibility of the spine and joints. It improves motor skills and balance, muscle tone and strength, energizes the body and mind and enhances metabolic and respiratory functions. Regular practice increases concentration and mindfulness.

Many studies indicated that meditation improved both physical and emotional responses to stress. People who meditate regularly for six weeks show less activation of their immune systems and less emotional distress when they face a stressful situation. The benefits of meditation can reach into many surprising areas of life, from sleep to relationships, stress to creativity, ultimately it’s about altering the way we relate to all that we experience - for the better.
